Before writing a single line, I spend time with the problem, not just the brief. What is actually broken? Who is actually affected? What does success look like in two years, not two weeks? Most projects fail in this phase without knowing it.

Architecture is irreversible at scale. I map out the system before building it: data flows, failure modes, security surfaces, scalability bounds. The goal isn't the cleverest solution; it's the one that's still defensible when the codebase is three times the size.

Foundation first, then interface. Core logic tested in isolation before it touches anything else. Each layer is honest about what it depends on. I don't paper over gaps with optimism.

Before it ships, I try to break it. Security review, edge case coverage, performance under load. In Web3, this isn't optional, but I apply the same rigor to any system that real people will depend on.

Launch is not the finish line. I monitor what I build, stay available for the questions that emerge in production, and take responsibility for what I've put into the world. Good engineering doesn't end at deployment.
